About the Project

The ROB-319 project at Lalitpur involves railway overbridge infrastructure requiring engineered ground reinforcement and geosynthetic materials to support stable road approaches and associated earthworks.

Maruti Rub-Plast Pvt. Ltd. received a purchase order from M/s AP & Associates for the supply of geosynthetic reinforcement materials, including biaxial polyester geogrids, uniaxial polyester geogrids, and non-woven geotextiles.

The documented order includes 4,000 sq. m of 60/60 kN/m biaxial geogrid, multiple grades of uniaxial geogrid ranging from MGU-80 to MGU-300, and 120 GSM non-woven geotextile.

Challenges

Railway overbridge approach structures can experience considerable traffic loads, ground settlement, and lateral soil pressures.

Such infrastructure requires stable reinforced earth systems, suitable load distribution, and effective separation between different soil layers.

Material selection must address tensile-strength requirements, soil–geosynthetic interaction, site-specific design conditions, and applicable quality standards.

Solutions

Maruti Rub-Plast was selected to supply a combination of geosynthetic reinforcement and separation materials for the project.

The biaxial geogrid is designed to provide reinforcement in both longitudinal and transverse directions, supporting aggregate confinement and load distribution.

The uniaxial polyester geogrids provide high tensile strength in the primary reinforcement direction and can be used in engineered reinforced soil structures.

The 120 GSM non-woven geotextile provides separation and filtration functions, helping limit the mixing of adjacent soil layers while permitting appropriate water movement.

Together, the specified products support the development of durable and stable railway overbridge infrastructure. The purchase order establishes the supply requirement, while field performance and installation outcomes are not documented in the provided records.
