Challenges

Significant risks of water ingress and leakage due to complex geology and high groundwater pressure. Ensuring long-term tunnel integrity and safe operation under these conditions was critical, particularly for maintaining uninterrupted all-weather connectivity between Banihal and Qazigund, while protecting the tunnel structure from erosion and seepage damage.

Our Solutions

To address the challenge of water ingress and leakage, Water Stop Seals offered an effective solution by creating a robust barrier that prevented water penetration at tunnel joints. Their exceptional durability and flexibility enabled them to withstand geological shifts and high groundwater pressure, preserving the tunnel’s structural stability and ensuring safe, uninterrupted operation.
