Maruti Rubber Group of Industries has successfully manufactured and supplied elite-grade EPDM Pads (150mm x 70mm) for the prestigious Kanpur Ring Road Project (Package-01) in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Procured through Raj Corporation Limited with execution managed on-site by Radha Gopinath G Group of Construction, this massive outer-bypass infrastructure is engineered to reroute heavy commercial highway traffic away from central Kanpur. Maruti’s specialized ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) pads were deployed near the Sachendi Plant zone to serve as high-performance structural cushioning and vibration-isolation bearings across critical concrete interfaces and flyover segments.

Challanges

As a crucial outer ring road, the Kanpur Ring Road is purpose-built to carry an continuous stream of multi-axle cargo trucks, trailers, and industrial freight. This heavy-duty vehicular movement subjects concrete bridge structures, pier caps, and retaining blocks to intense, high-frequency mechanical shock and structural wear. The Kanpur region experiences severe weather changes, with punishing summer heat frequently crossing 46°C and cold winter drops. Concrete flyovers undergo significant seasonal expansion and contraction, which can quickly crush or tear standard, low-grade commercial rubber pads.

Mega-bypass projects under major corporations operate under strict quality control checks. The structural bearings had to fulfill exact dimensional parameters and pass rigid compression-set, tensile strength, and hardness evaluations before being cleared for installation by project consultants.

Solution

Maruti engineered the 150 x 70mm EPDM Pads with optimized thickness and high-density polymer structures. Functioning as specialized shock absorbers, these pads are placed at critical concrete-to-concrete structural interfaces to absorb dynamic impact forces, distribute heavy axle loads evenly across support columns, and prevent structural cracking or spalling. Our pads are manufactured from 100% premium EPDM compound, renowned for its superior resistance to UV radiation, ozone aging, and severe temperature fluctuations (-40°C to +130°C). They maintain their elastic memory and flexibility year-round, allowing the ring road's concrete segments to expand and contract smoothly without causing structural friction.

Utilizing automated precision moulding technology, Maruti ensured absolute consistency in the 150 x 70mm dimensions. Every batch supplied to the Sachendi Plant was accompanied by traceable quality assurance documentation and material lab test certificates, enabling Radha Gopinath G Group of Construction to clear third-party quality inspections seamlessly
