Maruti Rubber Group of Industries has successfully manufactured and supplied specialized Polymer-Based Hydrophilic Swell Bars for the Jaypee Kresent Home Project located in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Procured and executed by Farukh Ali Contractor, this prominent residential development features complex basement and foundational engineering. Maruti’s distinct Blue Colour (Size: 20mm x 10mm) swell bars were integrated into construction joints, providing an active, expanding barrier against water ingress to protect the multi-story towers from foundational dampness.
Challanges
High-rise residential projects in Noida feature deep basements for multi-level parking and utilities, which are highly susceptible to subterranean water pressure. Groundwater can easily seep through cold joints and construction cracks, leading to continuous dampness and long-term degradation of the concrete foundation. Freshly poured concrete forms a highly alkaline, high-pH environment. Inferior joint seals can chemically degrade, harden, or lose their expansion capacity over time when trapped inside these harsh chemical conditions, resulting in eventual joint failure.
During fast-paced civil execution on a massive residential site, field supervisors must quickly verify that joint seals have been laid continuously without gaps before the second stage of concrete is poured. Dull or blended colors can easily lead to inspection oversights.
