The 4-lane NHI Melur project faced challenges related to unstable soil layers and insufficient anchoring strength required for safe and durable earthwork construction. Certain sections showed slippage risks during embankment formation, especially under increased load during widening activities. In addition, the project demanded reliable reinforcement that could perform consistently in Chennai’s variable soil and moisture conditions.
