Challanges
The foothill geography around Gwal Pahari, Gurugram, creates erratic subterranean water tables and heavy rainwater runoff paths. Basement foundations and retaining walls face constant hydrostatic pressure, risking water tracking through cold joints and causing dampness or structural damage. During extended concrete pouring schedules or unpredictable rain delays, standard swell bars can absorb ambient moisture, swell prematurely, or wash away entirely before the second concrete lift is placed, leaving the joint completely vulnerable.
Iconic architectural projects demand precise structural tolerances. Variations in the width or thickness of the swell bar can prevent it from sitting flat in the concrete keyways, leading to displacement during intense concrete pouring or mechanical vibration.
Solution
Maruti engineered a highly responsive polymer-based swell bar. Unlike traditional clay-based bentonite bars, our polymer-base formulation features controlled, high-efficiency expansion when exposed to moisture. It swells uniformly to seal up micro-cracks and voids inside the concrete joint, forming an active, impenetrable gasket that permanently chokes off high-pressure water pathways. The 20x15mm polymer-base compound is engineered with an advanced delayed-swelling matrix. It withstands exposure to construction water or light rain without expanding instantly or losing its structural integrity. Once fully embedded and exposed to sustained hydrostatic pressure, it executes its expansion reliably, ensuring long-term waterproofing for Jai Jai Ram Singh Infra’s concrete structures.
