Maruti Rubber Group of Industries has successfully manufactured and supplied high-performance 120 GSM Non-Woven Geotextiles for the critical Over Bridge Construction Project over the Upper Ganga Canal in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. Executed by AK and Soil Enterprises Private Limited, this critical infrastructure asset is located on the Ch. Charan Singh Kanwar Patri Marg at km 103, crossing the high-traffic National Highway 58 (NH-58). Maruti’s advanced engineered fabrics were deployed beneath the approach roads, abutments, and canal embankments to provide essential soil stabilization, filtration, and separation layers.

Challenge

Building a heavy over-bridge over a major flowing water body like the Upper Ganga Canal presents massive erosion risks. The continuous, high-velocity water current can easily wash away the fine subsoil particles beneath the bridge abutments and retaining walls, leading to structural shifting and catastrophic slope failure. The bridge approach ramps experience heavy load transfers from commercial truck traffic transitioning off NH-58. Over time, heavy dynamic loads cause the fine, soft subgrade soil to pump upward and mix with the aggregate base layer, leading to uneven road settlement, ruts, and asphalt cracking.

Infrastructure works crossing both a national highway (NH-58) and a major irrigation canal fall under strict regulatory compliance (such as MoRTH specifications). Every material batch had to undergo stringent testing for puncture resistance, tensile strength, and water permeability before clearing institutional audits.

Solution

Maruti’s 120 GSM Non-Woven Geotextile was laid as a high-efficiency filter blanket beneath the heavy stone rip-rap or concrete pitching. The fabric allows water to flow through freely, relieving hydrostatic pressure, while permanently locking fine soil particles in place to completely eliminate under-surface erosion.  Our geotextile acts as an immutable separation barrier between the soft subgrade soil and the granular base course. By keeping these layers mechanically separated, Maruti's fabric ensures the stone aggregate retains its friction and load-bearing properties, evenly distributing heavy traffic stresses and ensuring a smooth, deflection-free approach road.

Maruti manufactured the 120 GSM fabric using high-strength polymer fibers bonded through precision mechanical needle-punching. We delivered the supply alongside fully traceable lab test certificates confirming exact GSM uniformity, high CBR puncture resistance, and optimum pore sizing, granting AK and Soil Enterprises immediate engineering approvals from site inspectors
