Maruti Rubber Group of Industries has extended its critical supply footprint for the massive P25 Expansion Project at the IOCL Refinery in Panipat, Haryana. In addition to our heavy-duty ISI Mark PVC Water Stop Seals (Size: 230mm x 6mm), we successfully manufactured and supplied high-grade 250 Micron HDPE Sheets for this high-stakes industrial development.Executed by L&T Energy Hydrocarbon along with Bansal Infratech Synergies India Limited for the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), this project relies on Maruti’s dual-layer waterproofing and moisture-barrier system to shield underground refinery foundations against severe hydrostatic pressure and chemical contaminants.
Challenges
Refinery foundations are highly vulnerable. Sub-base concrete joints face aggressive groundwater tables coupled with potential chemical runoffs, oils, and hydrocarbons that can seep in and cause structural degradation or corrode steel reinforcements. During heavy industrial construction, thin plastic liners often puncture or tear when workers walk over them or when reinforcement steel bars (rebar) are laid out, rendering the moisture barrier useless.
L&T Energy Hydrocarbon and IOCL operate under rigorous third-party inspection regimes. Delivering multi-product supplies means every single product line whether a certified water stop or an industrial plastic liner must meet strict Indian and international test standards.
Solution
Maruti provided a comprehensive dual-action barrier. Our ISI Mark PVC Water Stops prevent high-pressure water from tracking through the concrete joints, while our 250 Micron HDPE Sheets serve as an impenetrable damp-proof membrane beneath the entire slab area. Both materials are formulated from premium virgin polymers engineered to resist oil, fuel, and chemical corrosion. Though only 250 microns thick, Maruti's HDPE sheets are manufactured with advanced multi-layer extrusion technology. This gives them exceptionally high puncture resistance, superior dart impact strength, and excellent tensile properties, ensuring they withstand heavy foot traffic and rebar placement by Bansal Infratech's on-site crews.
Maruti streamlined the approval pipeline. We provided the certified ISI Mark documentation for the 230x6mm PVC seals alongside matching, exhaustive batch testing reports for the 250 Micron HDPE sheets (covering thickness consistency, tear resistance, and elongation metrics). This complete quality assurance bundle guaranteed unconditional approval from project consultants.
